This one is a toss up.
If there was one marked Discussion Forums AND my Worldwide DG Friends...
To me they are interchangeable and inseparable.

I bounce around in many plant specific, hard scape and craft Forums,
try to send photos and details to Bugfiles and Plantfiles often, hit Watchdog when needed,
but always end up mainly in some type of Social Forum talking to Friends.
To me that's the strength here.

This weekend the Ohio River Valley Gardening Forum (ORVG) will be celebrating our
3rd Annual Fall RU/End of Summer Party.
A nice quiet event. LOL!
(Far cry from our frantic Spring RU/Plant Swap! We've had 4 of those and they just keep getting crazier)
Just 20+ Friends hanging out, pigging out and enjoying each other's company.
Many of us see each other often through the year but this event is special.
Much more a 'Family' Reunion than a garden club event.
A Family that would still be estranged if not for our Regional Forums here at Dave's.

Because my interests are many and varied, I bounce all over DG. But the most outstanding thing to me is the wealth of information imparted by the many varied cultures represented here and the ability to get to know and care for folks from around the world. My vote was for DG friends from around the world, although, that comes through the forums.

Dave needs to give us the option to mark more than one answer...grin

My DG friends!!!!! Hands-down, no doubt in my mind!
Meeting people from US, France, and UK is awesome!!!!!
I think that speaking to people who have differnt challenges with their conditions is very eye-opening, too.

My fav part of my DG friends is sharing our personalities though.
We have so much in common, of course, but we also have so many diversities that it's a good blend. Thank goodness for all the diversity! ^_^

Beautiful photo Yasir! I also had a hard time paying the dues, and would use plantfiles to the limit then eagerly wait until midnight until I could search more plants. The dues was not on my budget, but I snuck it in after a few months of this, anyway.

Now I am addicted to the forums (Midsouth and Fruits and nuts) and trading plants. It is enlightening to look at some member's tradelists who are in your zones; I have learned a lot about plants that way.

All is important, but the articles are also a joy. No vote for them?

I originally came here from 'that other place' on the net. And I quickly discovered a world of information in the discussion forums, the plant files, AND the Garden Watchdog (which was probably my first actual exposure to DG). Now I'm so grateful for the worldwide friends I've made here, many of whom I've been able to meet personally. I more recently have enjoyed the monthly newsletter & the gardening history blurb on the home page. I learn at least one thing every issue.

Oh, And I love my journal and diary, I use them almost daily too. And the sales through the classifieds and the market place. I've gotten some of the best deals through Dave's. Co-ops too. The Garden Watchdog is a great resorce. And last but not least, The people. Dave's Garden just wouldn't be as great as it is without the people. I think some of the nicest people on the planet are right here, on Dave's Garden. There's just so much to love about Dave's Garden. Dave's Garden has become a big part of my everyday life. OH! What to choose! They really should have a "all of the above" on the menu. I voted "seed and plant trading", but very much enjoy the PFs, pix and adding Pix.

Discussion Forums, Plant Files and my Friends on DG. But without the discussion forums I wouldn't have the friends and wouldn't have half as many things to search for on Plant Files.

I voted for friends, which is a by-product of enjoying the Discussion Forums. I have met so many great people here and it's also wonderful to walk into a room {virtually, of course} that has so many people ready to talk about whatever plant you feel like talking about that day! From my Northeast Gardening Forum base to the Hosta and other specialty forums, I enjoy Dave's Garden everywhere.

I voted none of the above, because it is too hard to choose between things that have blessed me so much in so many ways, at so many different times.
I was going to say, like most of you, the forums and say the prayer forum and the Parking Lot forum for the fun groups I participate in, one called the Gate, but really, the seeds and plants people send me are my favorite thing that excites me. The thing that most blesses me is the prayer forum, which, at different times has been so great to bless someone else and sometimes to receive encouragement as well.
The forums for tips are great too and the friendships, the RU's etc. There is a lot of aspects that I love. I have learned so much here and I love it and you guys too.
Thanks Dave.

i love plant files! :) i go to a tech. highschool called Tolles in plain city ohio, and im taking the landscape class there. ive used plant files sence i was 14, and it has really put me ahead of my class in the identification aspect of the class. not only that, but plant files tells you how to care for the plants... a good tool knowing that i am going into the landscape industry. (im 16). thanks daves garden for expanding my knowledge and putting me in the best tech school in the state of ohio:)

Dave's Garden has been a godsend to me! I can't imagine being a gardener without it! The subscription cost is below what most magazines charge - and is Soooooooo much better. You don't have to wait for your questions to be answered, by chance by a magazine. All your questions can be answered in a heartbeat, right here at Dave's. Thank you Dave for providing this website and community!

I never ever would have ordered 23 plumerias in a zillion years if I hadn't had a friend on DG. She was trying to grow them in a colder climate. I did buy them from her but also didn't pay what those from Thailand costs. I feel blessed by Dave' Gardens in many ways..both giving and receiving.

well i was here from the start--it was wonderful and the back room gang -well we were here to make the decisions on lots of things. we had the best mornings! i have missed those days for many yrs...things took lots of turns as the site grew and the directions went everywhere...now i find myself checking in a day here or there!!! not what it use to be!

so my favorite part of daves was those beginning yrs with my friends --i so miss that!!!!

maybe Notmartha's garden-we should start over! ;)
