I have real good luck with the moon flower vine, has the most beautiful bloom in the evenings and I am able to save the seeds to start more plants.

I bet they do certainly well in Florida as they enjoy tropical conditions, beware that they can also become invasive both through seeds and natural stem rooting.

We too have good luck with the Moon Flower seeds here in East Hawaii (Big Island). We have been growing them for years.

I would be interested in knowing if they go in the wild in Hawai as we have a rather similar climate and terrain and it does find its way out of gardens here.

    Hi Lizzie
As this is a moonflower it opens at sunset so you should rush in the garden when it becomes dark, the flowers open at an impressive fast speed (for a flower!). The seeds will be OK when the pods will be dry enough to be crushed with your fingers, they have to bcome hard ot be kept.

Sorry, I missed your question earlier...No, they don't grow in the wild here, but they would if someone just planted them around and then the seeds spread. They are very easy to grow.

Good thing then, here it has spread in the wild and it can ne large enough to overshade and slowly kill trees by light deprivation...the soft wins again on the hard!
