| I really enjoyed your article as well- nice descriptions of vines, leaves and flowers.
Nothing makes me happier than a day in a remote jungle collecting seeds, seeing the wildlife and interesting plants!
I developed a fascination for vines when I lived in Liberia W. Africa-
My current garden is over capacity with too many vines!

| It's certainly living up to the name "Jungle Heights".
I've been starting the Fall trimming and thinning..wow..mountains of trimmings, and hasn't dented a thing. Vines have run amock, encircling the entire garden. The Hawaaiin wood rose has covered the green house and surrounding trees & fence, so you can imagine my dilemna as it is a winter bloomer, and it's finally reached maturity for blooms.
You should come and visit. Your friend at Carlton House has to share you though so you can stay a night. |

| Nice article! I love vines too! & you are right about P. alata. There is a lot of variation in the plant.
Didn't Baudelaire spend some time on Reunion?

| I do not know about Beaudelaire on Reunion but he did travel in the area so may have dropped by.
Yes, alata can be very variable |
