I have been wanting to start a nice stand of Virginia Bluebells in our shady woods, but I can't figure out the best way to get it started (on a budget). And I thought someone here might be able to help...
I know you can buy seed for them, and then I saw some folks on e-bay were selling bare roots (?) and then places like white flower farms are selling plants (too dear for my budget).
So, is it the right time of year to buy bareroots and can you recommend a place to purchase them?
Or can I buy 'bulbs' or rhyzomes from somewhere for a better faster start?
And should I do the planting now (September) or in the springtime?
