Good Morning; I have a neighbor, who doesn't want to hear any more of my enviromental concerns, who is cleaning his paint & stain brushes inside, therefore, into his septic system. Will this practice - fairly often - harm or destroy their septic system? Thanks for any info. Daisey
From a plumbing standpoint it should not cause any problem, however, some of the chemicals that are flushed into the septic system may destroy some of the bacteria that makes a septic system work.
This would cause him to have to have his pumped more frequently and recharged with more bacteria.
He may be recharging his system on a reguar basis to overcome any potential problem, anyway.
