Excellent artical Sue. Do you have a source for Gunnera plants? I have not had any luck with seeds and would like to buy a plant to start me off. These things self sow for my sister who lives in Normandy, they grow like weeds!! My shade here in Tennessee is pretty dry, I might have to start a new pond to plant it in!

The PF lists several sources.
