I 1st posted pics of this little gal building her nest in April, silly bird built it on a Hollyhock flower :( I have staked and reinforced the stalk over and over. Worried about her little house. It has collapsed, slid, been wind worn. There has never been any little ones :( I even gave her yarn to use that was from the baby blanket I made Brittany. The Hollyhock died, so the tiny branch supports dried up and fell. Several times I thought she had abandoned it. This last week there was a flurry of activity! Lots of building and decorating with soft feathers. Yesterday I came home to find it had collapsed. I was crushed. There was no hope. So I figured I have nothing to lose if I try helping her. So She now has "FEMA" housing ☺ We'll see if she attempts to re-build? She's been out there chattering and checking it out from the near by Trumpet vine.
