Hiall, I have been growing orchids for a few years (unsuccessfully).I have Phals that bloom all the time. GREAT, not the problem. I have a Mendenhall Butterfly, grows well, no flowers...an Oncidium (don't know which one) grows, no flowers... 2 Colmanara Jungle Monarch "Hawaii" grows, no flowers. I have managed to KILL Catts, Phrags and Paphs. I talked to the owner of an Orchid Farm. He told me they don't bloom because of the light they get. We built a new house a few years ago LOADED with windows. The problem he says is the Low E, Argon Gas filled windows filtering out all the needed rays. This summer I put the Onidium and 2 Colmanara outside, still nothing but browned leaves on the Col. I really don't want grow lights. Does anyone have any advice short of throwing the darn things out? Thanks!
