I know I can't have it both ways - early bearing and large fruits - just doesn't work that way. Still, I keep looking. Fourth of July is a mainstay, except the fruits are mostly less than 2". Celebrity does OK, but Cindy doesn't care for the flavor as much as other varieties. I have hopes for Jet Star & had two in this spring, but a wilt disease did them in just as fruit was setting.
I'm looking for a variety with nominal 60 - 65 day maturity & a larger fruit. Doesn't need to be highly prolific, I have plenty of room for additional plants. Hybrid, OP, determinate, indeterminate, whatever.
Any varieties like that anyone's had success with?
Thank,
Frank
