I have a new air tight wood stove, I put a fan on a pedastal that goes left and right to blow the heat around, ? is this keeping my flu from reaching it,s right temperture. the stove can take a blower, but I don,t have one yet. Thanks in advance.fan is on back of stove, was going to add photo but dont know how.

Is there a reason why you have the fan positioned the way you do? A fan is going to pull in air that's behind it and blow it forward, so for it to effectively spread heat from the stove you'd want the back of the fan facing the stove so that it takes hot air from near the stove and blows it outwards. The way it is in your picture, it's pulling in chilly air that hasn't been heated by the stove and blowing it right onto your flue pipe, that's probably why you're having trouble. I also think you might be better off with a lower fan that sits on the ground so you can place it right in front of the stove, that way you'll be getting the hottest air for it to blow around and it'll be closer to the effect you'd get from a blower. But at the very least try repositioning the fan.

My stove has the draft control on the top front, so if I put the fan in front, wou,nt that interfair with the draft ? I just got to get a blower fan ,but there so expensive,

I think if you get a fan that sits on the floor and put that in front of the stove you can probably find a spot for it where it doesn't interfere with the draft but you may have to experiment with a few different placements--try putting it toward one side vs in the middle of the stove, try placing it out farther away from the stove vs right in front of it, etc. I really don't know that much about stoves though, all I can say for sure is the way you've got it set up now the fan is taking air from the colder parts of the room and blowing it onto your flue pipe, so you definitely need to find a different spot for it than where it is now. If the stove is a main heat source for you though you really might want to consider buying the blower for it, that'll be the best way to get the heat out.
