I was wondering if someone could provide me with a little history of the hosta? I know that it is a native of Eastern Asia but that's about all I have been able to come up with. I would also love to hear about any folklore attached to it.
On an unrelated matter, I have had some slug damage this year and while I've found that Slug Magic works great it does get rather expensive. If I put a layer of course sand around my plants, would it help deter those nasty pests?
