Can anyone tell me how to remove rust from fabric. I have some old vintage doll chothes that have lots of rust spots on them and anything I have seen in the stores has been to toxic to try. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks Meem

Years back I successfully removed "hanger" rust from a favorite white blouse. It took effort but I soaked it in lemon juice and rubbed it with salt. Then would hang it in the sunshine without rinsing. It took a few tries but did work.

There was a product I used awhile ago that worked wonderful made by the same people that make Yellow Out...I think it was called Rust Out...but may be too harsh for vintage doll clothes.

My daughter got rust on a white coat. She used CLR and got it off easily. You can buy it just about anywhere that sells household cleaners. On vintage doll clothes, I would just put a little dab on someplace inconspicuous to make sure it won't damage the fabric.

By the way, I do remember reading that you shouldn't bleach or put the item in the dryer, because that just sets the rust. Good luck.
