I can never, ever go to MVG without coming back with something I hadn't planned to buy. Today I went looking for seeds for peas, beets, and carrots and came back with strawberry plants (and other things that I just had to have). I've never grown strawberries before so I'm looking for suggestions. I have a large, round stock tank in the middle of my yard where it gets full sun and this is where I plan to grow them. What do they need as far as soil amendments (I only use organics), sun, mulching during winter or summer here, and other care requirements. I truly miss fresh strawberries and I know some of you out there grow them. I have plenty of homemade compost and access to some very nice, composted horse/goat/chicken manure. I don't know how fertile the soil needs to be or if they can handle our full sun, etc. Any suggestions???
Thanks,
Momherb
