We had a good long thread on this subject about a year ago.

I have found that to keep it mostly under control I have to cut off all the discolored nail,it's way down the nail by now, remove all the soft stuff under it and then still use the the Vicks on it most nights of the week. I soak my feet while I shower by stopping the drain and then work on the softened nail and soft material while it is still soft. I do wear socks all the time so no one sees my toes. The toe next to the big toe on that foot just has a thickened nail and a callus that forms at the end of the toe. So I remove as much as possible each showertime. The little toenail on each foot gets thick too and sometimes it comes clear out when I cut it.

How are the rest of you getting along with this malady? How do you treat it?
