I want my son-in-law to build me a portable storage shed (8'x12') out of pressure treated plywood. Has anyone done this? How did it work out for you?

Does anyone have any plans and materials lists for such a shed? I tried googling it but didn't come up with one made specifically out of plywood. Thanks for any help!

You will still need some framing to attach the plywood, and beams with floor joists to make it portable. The beams could be skids which would allow towing / moving the building. 8x12 feet will weigh several hundred pounds. What design for the roof, hip, gable, shed dormer, etc.??

Have you looked at the buildings at Home Depot, Lowe's, Morgan Buildings, etc.? They are all sided with ply or exterior siding (4x8). If not to buy one, it will provide construction ideas that are sound and safe.

I agree strongly with treated materials. Any of us in the Gulf Coast area have way too much humidity and insect problems to use anything else (with the exception or concrete or composite).

I know a guy who built his whole house out of treated lumber. By plywood I think you mean you just want the outside to be plywood?

I went to Home Depot and bought a metal shed, which is working great. Thanks!

LOL. I did that when we lived in S. CA. Needed storage space fast, so our son and I assembled one in a few hours.

Person who bought that house loved having the additional storage, too.

I wouldn't buy a metal shed in a hot humid hurricane prone area. They don't last long.
