| Hey all! is fall where you are yet? the leaves are GORGEOUS here. its rainy and wet. i wore rubber boots to walk the dog this morning. and my gardening hat. haha.. what i sight that was =)
I think my schedule has been off since I got back from vacation...I keep forgetting to get on DG. Ive been collecting seeds. moving pots into the garage, getting ready for winter.
sewing - I meandered (with the sewing machine, not by hand) the inside portion of my birdhouse quilt. now i cant decide what I want to do for the borders. helpppp.
-last week i made an apron for my aunt for her 82nd birthday...a new pattern we just got. it was so cute that I made two more for gifts. I embelished hers more than i did the others...buttons and pockets on both sides. a gift of love, yanno. I'm going to try to cut my original planned pattern out tomorrow and see which of the two I want for my Apron swap. my cousin has another new pattern...oh what to do, what to do.
is anyone else un-decided at the last moment like me? is anyone done? I have lots of material...i just cant decide which i want to send. LOL I dont know why i'm so wishy washy about it!

I'm Really hoping my buddy likes it lol
It's been awhile since I've made an apron, but I'm a creative little person LOL

i tripped on air. again. and tried to kiss the pavement. again. i swear, i'm starting to get a phobia about going outside anymore! and I promise...I am NOT on any hallucinating drugs! my uncle made a walking stick for me but lets not even think about what i could do with one of those!!!!!!!! i dont want to give up my dog. and walking IS good for me.

| Had a wonderful day yesterday with our daughter and her family. Her DH cooked a lovely roast beef with all the trimmings and invited us and my DH 's brother and his wife to dinner. Got to see the three year olds Halloween Costume, a fluffy chicken with her legs being the chickens lega and the stuffed attached legs making it look like she was riding the chicken. Too funny! Sewing up a storm and getting a lot of things finished. |

| Oh that chicken costume sounds sweet! my BF's GGD had a chicken little outfit that cracked me up. but the best one was her GGS...he is as plump as can be and wore a pumpkin suit! and him with red hair ;) mine were witches and Drs.
Barb, I am MUCH better today! i actually slept two nights in a row. I must've tripped on air on the pavement walking my dog last Wednesday night and injured the left side of me. Again. I honestly didnt think I was got 'as' sore this time, even with skinned elbows and knee, but I must've aggrevated it when i went shopping with my friend on Sunday, pulling myself in and out of her Envoy.
now, according to my friends and family, when i walk on this country road that goes by my house, I have to take a walking stick. and flashlight. AND my cell phone, lol. Or get rid of the dog ;) (just kidding. he's like my child)

A thanksgiving print, and a Christmas print! and a beautiful blue and pewter angel ornament!
I will do my best to get pictures tomorrow and get my son to show me how to upload them on this pc. It's his, (mine is broke still) mine had a slot for the camera memory card, this one doesnt' so I'm lost as to how to load pictures.
(son says not this week, but week after next, he's going to buy me a pc!!!!!! early Christmas?)
Thank you so much Lenjo. I love it all.
Edited to add:
I forgot to tell you all Lenjo sent me the softest white table cover with an embroidered african violet and my initial! She surely got the apron swap confused with the stuffed envelope swap because she sure stuffed my envelope. lol,,,I loved it all, thank you so much.

| oh. my. goodness. I GOT MY APRON YESTERDAY!!!!! You should see me twirling! Barb said she wasn't a 'clothes sewer'...she's right. I feel like a glamour girl movie star =)
Wednesday evening and Thursday I helped make 275+ turkey dinners so I was too exhausted to get online and thank Barb for my apron last night. And for the two darling dishrags, (of course I want the pattern, please) but I bragged about them to everyone I spoke too! I'll get a picture posted as quick as I can but I'm leaving for Knoxville shortly and have to turn around and go back tomorrow morning for our BOM class but, I'll be back.

| Me Too! Mittsy your's and your mother's aprons will be in the mail on Mon. I hope you enjoy them. Making them brought back a lot of memories of my mother in law and yes I loved her to death, she passed the year after we got married, but in the two years I knew her she showed me how to cook and sew, which I'm sure for her was nerve wracking, she didn't understand a girl that knew how to do all the boy stuff but not one bit of anything girly as she called it. The apron I made was the first thing she had me make and no I still cant put a pocket on streight to save me. Everyone Have A Good Weekend and I'll get a picture of me and my apron when my daughter comes out next week to help me with the colt thats hurt. Susan |

| These are my directions. Let me know if they are not clear to you.
Crochet Dishcloth
Materials
I used a J hook, the smaller the hook, the smaller the cloth.
100% cotton thread/yarn
Chain 26 loosely.
SC in second chain from hook, sc across row, ch 1, turn
Repeat this row twice (25 sc ea row)
Next 16 rows - 3 sc, sc in back loop only of sc’s to within the last 3 sc, 3 sc, ch 1, turn
Repeat rows 1-3 (plain sc). End off
I don’t think you need to sc around the outside as you want this to be a bit loose and it doesn’t need to be “finished”.
These are so easy to make and are great for waiting in Dr offices etc. They fit in your purse easily.
I got the variegated 100% cotton at Walmart. It is NOT in the yarn area – it is with the crochet cotton.
The cotton yarn is also available at JoAnne’s
The name I used is “Sugar ‘n Crème” variegated.

But you will have it for the holiday gatherings for Christmas. take care my friend and I will try to get back to DG as soon as I possibly can.
Things have been so crazy! I told Kris I think I may be going nuts! I don't know if I've found a rope or lost a horse. and the holidays are on us! I need a vacation I think. lol

| Mine went in the mail today, priority flat rate. Sure hope my buddy likes it. I did add something extra that I made a few months ago for a trade show and never did use them, so they found their way into my buddies box. Wish I had taken pictures, but then it wouldn't have done me any good, can't figure out how to download on son's pc, and when I get a chance to get on it, he's not here to ask.
Hopefully I can get back on it later, he's coming in the front door as I type and he'll be 'impatiently' waiting on me to finish, so must go for now.
This swap was so much fun, can't wait to see pics of everyone's aprons. I promise to post mine as soon as I can. Loved them both, will be wearing the one for Thanksgiving and then can do it again for the holidays! Thank you Joann, loved my whole box. |

Patterns are nice, there were a couple aprons that were different; one with lots of pockets across the bottom edge, sort of like a cobblers apron, but with an up-to-date flair. Nice, Thanks Jean!!

| Joann I was so thrilled when I saw you were my buddy! I couldn't resist putting those JD aprons in there when I saw the pic of you and your granddaughter. Glad you liked them.
like I said earlier, I am not a quilter at all, but once I started the pattern, there was no turning back. I was not happy with the points of the geese, but had to settle for it because I think I cut the squares wrong to start with.
I'm glad you liked it all. Enjoy them and always wear them in good health. I wish we could go back to the apron days of old. :) things were simpler then, people cared about each other and the world just seemed 'right'.
((((((((hugs)))))))))) to all and by the way! I AM ON MY NEW PC! So tomorrow I will take a pic of the beautiful aprons that you sent me, and try to figure out how to get them on the pc. it does have a card reader, but all the programs are different so I've got to figure out how to do it all over again. | Nannie, I love that little table with the doily on it, in the background of the 1st picture... is it a half round or a full round top? Love to spend time in antique shops looking for old furniture pieces, found an old time pump organ last week for $150... I played it, but am sure it would have to be re-bellowed and such. Mom had one when I was growing up, that's what I learned my basic playing lessons on.. LOL (Wow, that was a lonnnnnggg time ago).

| I love the crocheted piece! :) aprons are pretty, I love the poinsettia fabric.
My poinsettia is loaded with red blooms this year. I planted it last year and have just left it on it's own, watered a few times when I could remember. I'm impressed with it's stamina! It was a walmart 2.00 special after Christmas last year and you know how walmart takes care of their plants.
anyway,,,let's see more aprons gals! this IS an apron swap, lol,,,and I love seeing pics. have been trying to learn this pc, I uploaded a lot of pics, now can't find them, grr, lol,,,but have no fear, I will figure it out. this is vista and things are different with vista than with xp.

Hope she doesn't mind that I post one?
this is the apron I made for her.( I must make horrible aprons, since in the other apron swap my apron was never posted either;-) )
It hangs a bit weird, tried to slip of the hanger when I snapped this picture.

Bless your heart for caring so much, hon. Don't be so hard on yourself. I'll bet you're harder on yourself than anyone else.

I like the style of yours too. These apron swaps are so fun, will we do one for Easter? :)
I can't wait to wear mine for thursday! I will do my best to get that son of mine to take time to take a better pic today. I think I have figured out this new pc. still working on that though.

| Qwilter, thanks for the link to Paisley Pincushion - I bought one of her patterns to try it out - it's the one that criss-crosses over the shoulders and it's reversible. I hope to have time to make it before Thanksgiving, but if I don't, I'll probably be making it in other fabrics, too.
The pattern looks great and it has good directions with it. If it works up as easily as it looks like it will, I'll be buying some more styles from that site. Thanks again. :)

| kizmo, thank you. i love that lil' table too. its a full round table and must admit, its not an antique. i got it from Overstock.com . it was a free shipping month and the table was on sale for 99. i think. ive had it 3 or 4 years. and the doily is not one my mom made...it was a square one that i picked up somewhere but i like the way it hangs. that poor table catches everything and is always cluttered. in my bedroom i have a tablecloth my mom crocheted with pineapples on it. she loved to crochet...we're still finding bags of thread and UFOs she had. I was looking for embroidery hoops yesterday and must've found three more bags of yarn/thread. LOL and I thought I had already taken everything in industrial size trASH bags of yarn to the Senior Citizens center.
I had lots of christmas fabric but found that blue modern looking fabric on the half price table so I got all that was left. and part of my delay was that i wanted to find a fall fabric that i could put a matching xmas fabric on the back side. I'll probably find some this week, lol.
i love that potholder too~~~ the apron is darling too, but i like potholders especially. i make quilted hot pads, like for trivets but i forgot to make one. i wasnt a good buddy :( all that hindsight stuff |

| We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting
something we don't have,
but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have,
and it isn't what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful,
but what you have in your heart.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

| We are starting as of yesterday. My tree is standing but the lights are broken. Have to deal with those first then we can move on. I have a tree skirt on the long-arm have been playin with that since last night getting there. I made a couple of ornaments and the Kitty took off with them. Now I have to find them so I can close them up, I stuffed them. I hope this doesn't mean we are going to be chasing these around. I was not able to decorate last year so this will be the first tree my kitties will experience. Should be fun.

I didnt have a J needle so I used the biggest I had, an 'I', so my 26 stitches turned out smaller than the one I got from you. But, then, After I was almost done, I took it over to my aunt's to show her and found out I had been double-crocheting instead of single.
lol. it's been a LONG time since I crocheted!!
but, i'm gonna try it again because i like the thickness of it as opposed to the knitted one. |
