This started as a 3-4 inch sprout about 6 months ago. (See the skinny plant in the pot. ) Its at least 5 1/2 ft tall now... not including the container height. Its not a AZ BOP (no thorns and totally different color/shape leaves.) Not mesquite, I've compared it to my neighbor's much smaller leaves. Could be Jacaranda (neighbor has one) but the tiny leaves on her tree are rounded at the tip. These are a little pointy. Not mimosa. I have two good mimosa volunteers. Sorta would like to plant one of those in my "new tree space".
I don't want to waste this tree (?). Must know what it is before I plant it where I'd like a new tree (size and roots). But, then I think to myself I have about 10 years in this house, max. Maybe I'll let someone else worry about how big it gets!!!
Any ideas? couple more pics to follow.
