You said it all, Paul! Newly retired after 35 wonderful years tending first graders, I turned my nurturing skills towards watching my garden grow! From spring's first crocus, through autumn's glorious colors, gardening amazes and calms. Watching perennials return and flourish, each during their own special time, brings excitement year after year. Once the holiday season ends and winter weather hits New England, gardening moves indoors as I try wintering over favorite annuals and planting new seeds ... many similarities to teaching first grade! Thanks for a wonderful article!
