We are in the planning stage and could sure use some suggestions or ideas. We are closing in our two car garage. There is a storage room (20X12) in the garage that I need to make accessible for my disabled mother. She has two terminal illnesses (cirhosis and shy-draggers, which is degenerative neurological disease often misdiagnosed as parkinson's disease). She can still get around with a walker, some times. She can sit up in a wheel chair.
A walk in bath tub is out of the question. Can't afford even the cheaper ones and I have heard horror stories about them not sealing properly.
The plumber recommends a "backwards flush" toliet. I have never heard of one until today. He says that we won't have to tear up the concrete floor, if we go with a backward flush. Any of you have one?
Bidet for the disabled? Any one have one?
Can we really install a workable shower without making a hole in the foundation?
Any suggestions on what sink/cabinet might be best for her use?
