Hi Marleneann, these are very pretty, now for the uneducated 'me', what sort of plants can go in them and are they literally just plonked in a pot of water, mosquitoes may be my only concern, but I like them so much I am even willing to brave the mozzies lol.

thanks for your help

Hi Shelly!

I plant them in plastic pots and then stand them pumpkin pots (Or any other suitable pot)
These pumpkin pots have a hole midway so the water gets to a certain level and runs out.
There are lots of plants that are suitable ...just look for bog plants. I have some with Canna, Water Iris, Reeds & Rushes.

I put insecticide in the water to stop mosquitoes.

It is a little round donut-shaped blocks that has an insecticide in it
to kill mosquitoes.
It is o.k., I saw in nursery the other day they are making tablets that you can put into pots
to kill inects also.
People coming out all the time with new products/

Maybe, you can google it to see if you can find them.
I hope you can.
