I have three young male peacocks. I offered them to a friend, but he has yet to pick them up after two months. I am interested in selling them, if any one is interested. They are blues.

Can peacocks be housed with chickens? I would LOVE one, but need to know the logistics.

Mine winter in the coop with the chickens. During the summer, they are loose in the yard.My extras have all been sold though. I listed them on Craig's List and all were gone within 4 hours. The best time to get them is in the spring and early summer when they are chicks. I penned my for about 8 weeks and then turned them loose, they stayed pretty much in the yard. It's hard to tell the males from the females at that age, but it's way cheaper than adults.

Thanks for the info. I told a coworker about your post and she told me that peacocks are extremely loud. Hmm.

The male only calls for a few weeks in the spring. No one has ever complained about it around here except my husband. I kind of like the sound.

I always thought it would be a great sound to put on a Halloween tape :)
