Somebody gave me this plant calling it a Jerusalem Rose but I have Googled that with no success. Any ideas? Starts white and goes pink in a day.

That appears to be Hibiscus mutabilis, commonly called Confederate Rose

I agree, it's a confedrate rose. Make sure you have plenty of room, they can get rather large but are oh so pretty :)
