I was outside just now cutting back my peony foliage (it's still gorgeous, but it's time) and was shocked to see that several of my peonies are sending up new pips. That includes a peony I put in at the beginning of the season that did not bloom, 2 I put in at the beginning of the season that did bloom, but also a 7 year old Mrs. FDR and a 2 year old Lady Alexandra Duff!
I have never seen this before. Is my panic unnecessary? Will they adjust when the weather cools down again and be OK for next year?
