Why is it when you are finally feeling like you could get something done, plant the last few seedlings , get some , seeds in the ground, clean up the weedy perennial attempts, cut down another tree or two (without breaking your neck) all of a sudden you find your adult son has a Doctor's appointment, Herself has a Doctor's appointment, you find you've forgotten an appointment with the urologist that you'd like to forget, the Primary Doc decides you need a stress test because you made the mistake of telling him you had a little chest pain and its probably going to be November before you get to the poor garden and even if it looks like Eden after the fall it would be nice to get some crocus, bulbous iris,, a few new dafs, some more tulips and even clean up some of the jungle now that you can see where things are and start trying to organize the scattered daylily beds----maybe into late, earlies, and Julys say, not to mention planning what to divide and move as there are several seedlings that were interesting if not spectacular and maybe fifteen seedlings that didn't bloom but look promising. Then you sneeze and the back pain starts all over again and probably it will rain. Nothing seems to stop the beaver in the North East corner, nothing bothers their plans, They are having no trouble getting ready for winter, they've raised the water level a good foot and patched their dam with our thick clay. Why did I think retirement would mean I could do all the things I wanted when I wanted??????----------------Weedy, D---Old Crank???
