I was digging irises out of my sisters yard and dug up some bulbs. They might be the size of a small apple, roots on bottom, kinda looks like an onion with brownish skin. Anyway, I was going to plant them today but I won't be able to finish my bed so need to hold them for a week or so. It is going to rain here for a few days. Can I just leave them in the shed in a paper bag? Any suggestions?
those sound like my mystery lilies. I think others called them Naked Ladies or Surprise Lilies. They put up green fronds that look like daffodils in the spring but then die off. In late July they sprout up a stalk that can grow literally 2 feet in a day or two with the prettiest pink lilies in sets of 4.
oh! those are gorgeous! sure I'll take some:) I have tons of French Harmony marigold seeds, enough for 3 football fields, and Mammoth striped sunflowers to trade. I can also send you some of the pink lilies if you want some of those too:)
