The leaves on the young plant look like an Arrowhead. The mature leaves are more complex and divided.
You can see the diffence by Googling "Syngonium podophyllum Images".

I just bought two beautiful hanging baskets. I plan to hang them opposite one another on the same wall. The area has alot of filtered light but no direct light. Will this plant do well if I split it and place half in each hanging basket in these conditions?

Daisy: You have a lovely Syngonium. Scroll down this page to see the ones listed in Plant Files, there are 20 listed and I think yours is the first one, the White Veined: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher[com...

Hubby says he will put the hangers up this weekend. I can't wait to see how lovely it will be in the hanging baskets. I wonder if it will go into shock when I split it?

Plantladylin, I have to agree with you. White Veined looks like mine. I also liked another one I saw there called Arrowhead vine, "Red Regina" - a soft maroon color.

I have the solid green one growing in different areas of the yard and one small patch of the white veined. A friend has the white veined variety growing in their yard.

This is from my original plant, years ago. The stuff growing in the ground came from my original plant as well. I just moved this basket out in the open because it looks like it's going to rain! I hope it rains, I hope it rains ... we need some rain!

Oh, I just adore the solid green one.. Any chance you might share a piece? -- Green is my favorite color, so I guess it is no wonder I have fallen in love with the world of plants. I enjoy flowers but I love the foliage more than anything. I suppose that is why I love the philos and EE so much.

Lin, Maybe you can help me with the name of that particular green one and I will try to find one.. Just love it!!!

This looks like a Nephytis to me... what's the difference between a Nephytis and an arrow plant?

Leysha,

When I was looking around about it I actually saw it called both. I guess just different common names.

Syngonium and Nepthytis are both in the Araceae family.

Thank you so much. :) I appreciate the answers. I understand now. I guess it's just what you prefer calling it. :D
