I want to mail some seeds to my cousin and want to know the best "packaging" for them. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with same? I am in FL and want to mail them to NC and hope that I haven't waited too late to get them there before cold weather comes.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think unsprouted seeds are very cold-hardy.

Thanks dp72. Good to know. I think the seeds should be okay. And the bubble envelope is a great idea, too.

Since I'm old and have to take several different medicines, I save my perscription bottles. Crush proof and keep the seeds good and dry.

You are correct, dp72. Many folk store their seeds in the freezer...and those blooming weeds always manage to survive the winter freezes...grin

Hi Moon. I'm one of those who store all seeds in the freezer.

You must have read my other post about breakfast yesterday. You should have seen the spaghetti he and one of his friends ate a couple of weeks ago. Jo made a the big cast aluminum roaster oven full. Thought there would be enough for Mark to carry home with him. Not!! Those two boys ate four plates full apiece.

Growing boys and their appetites can be amazing...meals are scarfed up in pounds of food rather than servings...grin

Got that right, Moon. What gripes me is they never gain a pound. I can gain ten pounds looking at Jo's cookbooks. I do mean "books." She has more cookbooks than potted plants.
