sorry g whizz, lillies are beautiful but I think they would cook here.in the past I have had a go at them but I end up losing them in my jungle.
I am sure those gardeners in cooler places may enjoy them.
don't be lonely we are here.

chrissy,hi,ive followed a couple of your threads, and you are very proud of your offspring...my first grandaughter was born 20/9/09...molly fay hoyle, shes already pulled on my beard[hey whats a bit of pain, when youve got a grandaughter]...you can grow lilies, you may have to shade the root system a bit more, but the tops love being in the sun...sorry i may not understand your water supply but ours is never ending..mulch the ground cover and make sure you plant them 6 inches deep[not 6 foot]which is where we'll be one day...chrissy sydney is cool,i visited there in 1988,sept 17 for 1 week, loved it...that was on my honeymoon,22 years old...one of the biggest things that blew my mind, was the size of the bacon display in the city, down near the docks...we stayed in ultimo..went to 5 dock and was blown away by the holographic pictures...memmmmmories.keep cool...anthony

Anthony, I have Neoregelia 'Gee Whizz'. Its still a pup (a rather large one) but when it is a bit more established I'll show you a pic.
So, what you're bidding on, is it a Tin, that used to contain tyre sidewall cleaner, product called 'Lily white' and the company is named 'Whizz'? Just clarifying. Have you bid yet?
Hubby bought an old laxative tin at the markets today. Mmmmmmm. I bought something called a 'Briki' which I can use to make coffee in. It cost me $2! I'll try it in the morning, although the plunger would probably be quicker!
Come on lily lovers! We know you're out there. If you are a subscriber, you can access the lily forum, which would probably find your answers.
Anyway, must go

g whizz why don't you pop into our flowering in Nov. thread and show us all your pretty lillies ...or like many in this forum have a thread devoted to lillies ...you could teach us how to do it.
We also have a Tea Room to chat ...there are some great people in there with many varied interests.
Love your "memories" of sydney ...Tassy must be a beaut place, I hope to see it before I kick the bucket.

'leftwood' in st bonifacus gave me feedback on the rhodopeum,,,he's sent me some species seed and scored some rhodo seed[apparently its very rare].''whiz hollingshead tin''sue, how i spelt it out is how its printed on the label[only in america].i collect oil/grease/petrol tins, bowsers, usa number plates.bidded last night on the lily wyte tin,[asked them if theyd empty b4 posting.]so you are a fellow market hunter? chrissy,im still working out how to use some of the thingamies on these sites,no lilies in bloom yet...teach growing liliums, easy,i find myself sounding like a cracked record on sales days...do you have 'coffee rooms' as well?i'll check it out...tassie is a great place, but its getting too crowded, like my garden...anthony

Anthony, Ga. is an abbreviation for the state of Georgia. What kind of show are you hosting?
I love looking on the forums to see what is going on. Most of the folks are truelly very good to me.
I love to ask questions, if they don't want to answer it is o.k. I'll eventually find out.
Very nice to met you, Best of luck for the show.

hi everyone, things have been getting better...aDG member in usa[a lily crazy one at that]sent me rare martagon and species seed collection .[its already planted]...but not only that,he gave me a referral to a lily hybridiser in denmark, who is now sending me...tango asiatic seeds and dark purple trumpet seeds in exchange for oriental and orient/trumpet cross seeds...christmas has come very early,as i have been hunting these seeds for about 13 months...my garden is looking exquizzioso and should have 25/30 entries for the jan show, cant wait...i will work out the photo bit soon, because some of these orienpets i have about to bloom are magnificent unseen beauties from the great DR GRIESBACH collection...how good joining DG has been so far...do you other members agree?
