it moved in on my porch about a week ago, and has a large sized web in the corner of the roof line ... spends all night catching insects and sleeps in the daytime ... no plans on moving it less it is poisonous and then will just relocate it to the wooded area behind my house. I have tried to get a better photo but it moves quite quick and the angle of the web makes it hard to get a good clean shot.
This is an orb weaving spider (family Araneidae); likely an Araneus or Neoscona sp. There are several species in these genera that are highly variable in color pattern and whose appearance can be quite similar; All are harmless to humans.
great thanks will leave em right where She is then ... i had thought that may be what it was but the legs were throwing me off and hadn't found any pictures that were exact matches for the pattern yet
