I made this tote bag out of the plastic grocery bags. I did not like the pattern that I had got off line because some of the directions was not very clear. I had to make up some of it as I went along. My daughter is going to use it to hold some of her green products that she is going ot use in a show.

Wow! great very sturdy looking bag. Did you cut the bags into strips and then crochet them?

Catbird423 I folded the bag until I had about 1" and then I cut it into 2 inch strips and then I used a square knot and tied them together until I had a large ball and croqueted from there.

My aunt used to cut hers up into strips, then tie them around chicken wire figures for Christmas. She had a 5' Frosty on her front porch, along with door wreaths, and 2 balls hanging on the porch made the same way, only with christmas lights entwined inside... really neat!

Kismo that sounds like fun. Might try that if I get some free time. Started on my Son-in-laws vest today. I am taking it apart now to cut it out by. Will post it when I get it finished

She had all the family giving her white grocery bags for these projects.. we were amazed when we saw the final product! She made them really full, too, so they were really 'fluffy'... it takes a lot of strips to do, but she loved it!

It does take a lot of bags to do these projects. It takes about 40 bags to do the tote bag. I get my bags from the recycle bin at the local gro store here in my little town.

Can you get some instructions on how to make the xmas projects. I think my grandson would like to do that for xmas.
