"Flowering" currently in Ballarat, Australia - about 30mm diameter balls, long spindly leaves and height of bush about 1-1.5 metres.
First thoughts were its a Hakea but doesn't match any pics either here on Daves Garden or on the Australian National Botanical Database. Any ideas?
Good call. Isopogon anethifolius is a good match on colour and size of "flower" ball and leaf shape - the Australian National Botanical Gardens Database has some good pics - eg http://www.anbg.gov.au/photo/apii/id/a/3552
Thanks for the lead.
