Haveing 2 giant long leaf pines in the back yard, I get all the needles I need or want all year long. I've used them for pathways, mulch, and whereever the grass won't grow. Never had any problem with things not growing well because of them. Like the man said, once the pine smell is gone, so is anything detramental to growing plants.
