Yesterday I was at the flea market for fruits and veggies. I saw a wonderful large citrus fruit and had to have one. It is bigger than a very large grapefruit and has smooth yellow skin but has light pink flesh. It has seeds and the membrane between the sections is thick and not very edible. It was extremely thick skinned. It tastes lighter than grapefruit but not sweet like an orange. We had a language barrier so the name remains a mystery to me. Sound familiar?Do tell. I am sure it's some type of grapefruit. Oh, I am in Florida. That might help. Thanks for your time.

Sounds for sure the fruit that in Spanish is called "Pomelo" (I don't know the English name): Citrus x paradisi.

The Bengal Citron can get to be bigger than a Rock Melon (Cantaloupe I think) they have very thick skin but I think the flesh is white not pink.

If it is a Pomelo, they are currently being touted as the *best* citrus for our health.
