I am again doing a Christmas Card Party this weekend with my sister and my mom. For those of you who either weren't here last year, or just don't remember, we get together to do our cards. Each of us comes up with 3 designs and then puts together kits so that the others can easily make 4 cards of each of our designs. This year, another sister (from Tx!!) has also come up and will be joining us. So the only other sister (who somehow missed the creative gene) has decided she will also join us. She is going to be our runner, stamp cleaner, envelope addresser, and meal maker!! We are going to make some extra cards for her to take home and send out as well. :)

Anyway, these are my 3 designs and after the weekend, I will post the rest of them that others have come up with.

Please feel free to add your cards too as you make them! I love to see the creations of others!!

Here is the first card (and my least favorite-it just doesn't say "WOW" to me)

Sheri, they are all very cute, but I just love that last one!

I should have taken pictures of mine before I packed them up - maybe we can do that this afternoon or tonight :)

I am all ready to go as soon as that noon bell rings!

Very much most creative and yes we should be able to get your cards photoed and posted before the rest arrive!! (think about that first card and if you can come up with an alteration/addition that would help it say "WOW" that would be awesome!!)

What do you have for white/off white sparkly paper? Maybe you could add just the tiniest mat around the snowflake cardstock?

Sherie try a darker color for the flake background! Then not as bright a blue for the other Maybe navy. I like the idea tho. But there is no wow yet! The Santa coat is my favorite so far. Sorry to butt in!

Vicky you are more than welcome to "butt" in--this thread is for everyone not just Jeannie and me!! The problem with MAJOR change is I already have the kits made (papers cut) for what you see. Pretty much has to be a minor addition/alteration to what is there.

Say I have the weekend off so try to stay connected this weekend and I can butt in lots! You have fun! Jeannie too! Can hardly wait to see your designs!

Hmm... I see Sheri never got around to posting pictures of the finished cards. I will try to get that done tonight, so you can see what our mom, older sister, and I came up with in addition to Sheri's cards.

We had such an awesome weekend that the sister from Texas is already planning to come back next year for another weekend!

Apparently I forgot to post the link here. Really thought I had, sorry about that!! The new picture I took of the one card I did that just didn't pop didn't turn out. What we did was to mat the snowflake paper with a thin mat of green shimmer paper. It looked much better.

These are pictures from the full weekend along with a closeup of each card. http://picasaweb.google.com/sjweld/CardParty2009?feat=direct...

Mom and I went to a Christmas Card class today called "Merry Glitzmas". The pictures used in the cards were on a 12x12 sheet, and were pre-cut to be punched out. We then added glitzy embellishments using Stickles, Smooches, glitter pens, and glaze pens.

How close are you to a town? Look up in the yellow pages to find a stamping store near you and get ready to enjoy all the things that they offer. If they offer classes, which I am sure they do, sign up to take one. Ask if one of them is good for a beginner.
I have been stamping cards for over 10 yrs. so have accumulated mucho stuff.

There's nothing that makes me feel more special than to receive one of these beautiful cards from a friend...just knowing they thought enough of me to take the time to make a handcrafted card really... makes me feel super special... I would love to be able to give them...as well as some other special people...a card that is handmade with love just for them.

Thanks for taking the time to google this for me, you and Maxine are very special ladies indeed!

How was Jeannie's #2 card made? Is that a semicircle stamp used four times and cut out?

    Glad you enjoyed them!

Some of the cutting was done ahead of time on the Cricut but some was done by hand.

Jeannie's #2 card was made from a half moon stamp and a square stamp (they go together) You stamp out the square and then the half moon on all 4 sides of the square. Cut it out on the outer edges and fold. You can find that stamp set (and many more cool stamps including the santa jacket one I used the year before) here: http://shopping.toomuchfunrubberstamps.com/folios.html This place is at the rubber stamping expo in Milwaukee (or has been the last 2 or 3 times we went) and we both love them!
I used a stamp from them to make this card also:
