| My local extension agent thinks this is a golden rain tree but in pictures I've been able to find on the web the bloom of this one is not as closed and more peach colored. I'll post a close up and a far away shot next. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| here is the whole tree.
P.S. Dave, is there anyway we could attach more than one photo to a post? I notice lots of people need to post more than one for ID questions. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| i believe that it is a chinese flame tree Koelreuteria bipinnata, in the same family as the golden rain tree however, the golden rain is Koelreuteria paniculata. |

| Yep, Koelreuteria bipinnata.
The pink things are actually seed capsules, not flowers - the flowers are yellow, produced in the summer.

| if you posted more than one photo to each post, they would probably be too small to see details. posting them one at a time is time-consuming, but you get bigger, better pictures.
resin, the flowers come right before the seed capsules here. they flower for a couple of weeks and then the capsules form quickly afterwards. florida is full of these beautiful, some say weedy, trees. they were at their peak about a week ago. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| I guess you're right about the picture size.
Everyone mentioned seeds, does anyone have experience growing one from seed? The look huge full grown, I wonder how long it takes them to get that big? |

| they are a pretty fast grower but to attain full size i would think at least 25 yrs. judging from the growth on mine, which was planted 3 yrs. ago as a 2' tall sapling. |
