This is a very interesting article. I loved the history of how the extension service was started. The Ky extension office was very important for my grandparents. My grandfather raised hens for eggs and supplied all of eastern Ky with eggs back in the 1960s. He made enough money to retire, buy a huge farm to raise beef cattle (his idea of retirement). Every step of the way he kept up with the latest, best information for his chickens. He would catch the grey hound and spend the day at the Univerisity of KY.
He was best friends with the county extension agent (I mean he really was!).
