Zone 7a. We had our first light frost last night. It's officially our cold season. The hostas here have been dying back for about 3 weeks. some are still green, but the large ones have yellowed and are wilting. It's been a really cold fall, too, unusually so - we never got our normal indian summer.
Can I move hostas this time of year? or should I wait until spring? we have three huge ones that need to move, they are killing their neighbors.
We also have four I need to divide for friends. can this be done now?
Are there any special tricks or tips to moving and dividing hostas in the cold?
