Are there different varieties and bloom displays of Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus arboreus) ? The photo posted with your article shows the flowers all nodding or hanging down. I have one and the blooms sit upright on the stems like little hats.with the stamen sticking straight up on top!

Yes, there are two different kinds of Turk's cap. The one you are describing is
Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii. I have this one, too.
