I have lots of Charlie in my yard and, at first, I thought this was him. A second look made me realize it's not him at all. Lots of this plant have been popping up everywhere in my yard for the last few weeks. Its leaves are slightly thinner than Glechoma Hederacea and are fuzzy. Anyone recognize it?

Maybe a Stachys. Can you show any flowers?

Maybe there are larger, more mature plants in your neighborhood?

could be in the mint family - I have seen similiar seedlings of anise hyssop Agastache foeniculum come up in my yard - they seed themselves like crazy.

Just let you know, I'm not 100% sure it's hyssop. Does it have any odors when leaves are crushed?

Looks like Henbit or Dead Nettle; one of the winter annual weeds that gets a purplish flower come late winter or early spring.

Check out the Lamium group...maybe one of these?

I pulled up one of the plants today -- long, thready root system! Malus, I did not note an odor. Haven't noticed any larger plants anywhere nearby, Metro. VV, those Lamium pictures really do resemble the foliage on this stuff, but I can't be sure about the rest of the plant. Here are some more pictures. What do you all think?
