| this i saw this little tree on the west seattle garden tour. It was growing in shade with some other Japanese maples. It color was so beautiful, with blue green leaves and dark purple stems. It had similar coloring to rosa glauca. Has anyone seen this before? Click the image for an enlarged view.

| It would be great to find out because it is a unique look for a Japanese maple. I've just skimmed through a long list of cultivars but the only one described with 'blue-green' leaves are variegated too. I would definitely prefer the one in this pic. Of course it could be un-named |

Not sure if the leaves are a match though...
When was the picture taken? Most pics for comparison show the trees "in fall color" making it a little more difficult to match. |

| I don't think it is a dissectum variety the leaves seem too full. I'm going to email a pic to a nursery near where I saw this tree andsee if they can tell me what it is |

| Defiantly not a dissectum.
From your picture though it appears that it is growing in the shade. The problem with trying to ID it is that many japanese maples have huge color variations depending on what kind of light it is getting.
That same tree might be red if it were growing in full sun. I dont know any way to tell. |
