these pictures where taken in a vancouver suburb on the west coast of canada. The small leaf at the bottom is obviously a maple of some sort, the small one above it belongs to an alder tree i beleive (correct me if im wrong) and the third larger leaf is the one i need help identifying. andy help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

It would have to be an Aesculus species, or as I think you say in North America, a buckeye. The leaves of the different species are generally very similar, unless I guess if you look very closely. The one I'm most familar with from N America is A. glabra

I'd guess the "alder" is more likely Populus spp., possibly Trembling Aspen.

Yes I also think it looks more poplar-like . I know Alnus cordata has a similar shaped leaf but I don't think it's that

From left to right Aesculus hippocastanum, Liquidambar orientalis? (would need to see more leaves and branches) and Populus deltoides?

I'd say from left to right, Aesculus hippocastanum, Acer macrophyllum, Populus × canadensis
