I also make "the shift" in May and October. A corner of the basement ( with grow lights in place ) and most of the dining room become a makeshift greenhouse in the cooler months. It would seem that each year I add a pot or two to the operation. This year it is Coleus, Wandering Jew ( 3 pots full! ), Wax Begonia and Petunia joining the Angel Wing Begonias, Pothos, Philodendron, Mandevilla, Impatiens, Tuberoses, miniature Banana Plant, Poinsettia and Cannas. My husband cringes when fall arrives because he knows the dining room will be standing room only til spring :)
Laughing now...how very familiar. I have little sprigs of coleus across my kitchen window. But there is no one here to complain, except my cats, and they aren't allowed there anyway.
So nice to hear from you, Sunflower. You live in a very pretty area as I remember, but it's been a long time, and I can't remember what took me to Manassas, only remember being there when I was very young.
