I have always been facinated by gourds. Two years ago I gave my son some seed and he planted them so it could climb on the fence. It not only climed the fence but up and across to another tree then back down the tree to the lawn across the yard and up a pear tree where it intertwined in many of the branches.
Thanks, TC, for coming back to the Dave's Garden Family and sharing this article with us.
VGMKY I know what you mean. I gave my gourds plenty of room this year and they still crept over the fence into the neighbors tobbaco patch, and into our hay field. I told my son and husband to give them a wide berth when they mowed. My son joked and told me that they lost three big bales of hay from missing my gourds. Only he does not joke very often, he is the kind of person that take things he says very literally, hmmmm and he was not smiling when he said it either. Oh well I have lots of big kettle gourds and I promised them it was my last year to grow them, so they can just tough it..
