I'm new to mince meat but this sounds great. It's supposed to freeze tonight and I have quiet a few green tomatoes. I want to try this. How do I store it? Can I freeze it or can it? Thanks.

My mom typically froze it but I think some people can it. However, canning is a lost art in my family; has been for years. I wouldn't know what to tell you.

Our mincemeat stayed a bit soft in the freezer; don't know why.

Sometimes mom will put the GT mincemeat in an unbaked pie shell, cover w/ another unbaked pie shell and freeze the pie and all. Then she will cook the pie whenever.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for reading and writing.

I made Green Tomato Mince Meat a few years ago, and I used the canning instructions from my pressure caner. (My caner is quite old, but I am sure you could find directions on line - - my instruction book has disappeared!) Good luck - it is worth it!
