Oh, you are BAD!!! It is currently 46 f. here and that is not bad.
You girls need to get over to mekos trade and makea bid on
those seeds. I want some competition, Help!!! She has some neat items listed over there.
RRM and Charley
Here is a pic I took of him, got it for my screensaver. Let me know how you like this???
Robin... I've got an envelope stuffed with seeds. If I cant get to the PO today, it will go out tomorrow.
Most everything is in it's individual baggie, but some are 'bulk' but i made seed tags for them, just put them all in the larger bag.
ive been an absentee member for awhile for several reasons, but one reason in particular was actually a happy one.
A friend of mine owns a shop.. and for the past few years, her shop has been located in a local strip mall. The opportunity presented itself to move the shop from its existing cookie cutter strip mall location, to a 150 + year old, (actually, oldest house int he area) two story Victorian mansion. along with this new house came a beautiful wrap around porch and a sizable back garden 9overgrown with weeds, dead wood and alot of unpruned and unkept shrub, trees and plants), the house being empty for several years and no one taking care of the grounds.
naturally, I was given the task of restoring the garden to its former 19th century Victorian glory. there are quite a few plants and shrubs that will be cleaned up and kept, and alot of unruly non natives that will be erradicated (can you say Mexican petunia???). I have managed to harvest a few various seeds from my own plants to sprout... such as morning glory for the arbors and Night blooming jasmine... however, ther is a long wish list of basic herbs and plants that are still needed.
the plan is.. to have a working kitchen herb garden, a butterfly and humming bird garden as well as a shade garden. the front wrap around porch is almost completely shaded and faces west, and tho it would normally get alot of afternoon sun, the 150 yr old spanish moss draped oak is sort of a natural umbrella. My plan is for some impatiens there, but would also need a few taller shade loving plants as backdrop against the porch railing.
If any of you gals have ideas for the front western shaded area.. let me know. also... seeds.. glorious seed would be welcomed as well. if, say, you happen to have any spare from your harvest lying around needing a purpose in life. or the best place to purchase them.
anything that will attract birds and butterflies is a bonus
really.. anything is welcome, provided its not drastically outside its zone. just let me know in a dmail... i am eager to get some things started so by spring they will be ready to transplant! I am the only person taking on this project as i have yet to gather any volunteers.. so any tips, tricks, shortcuts or advice any of you may have will be very very very much appreciated!
cue -- too bad I've closed up that envie to Robin... some of what you are looking for, i've stuffed all my extras into it - heading for the newbies. The grounds sound fantastic. l love those big porches, and that spanish moss sounds heavenly.
its going to be one heck of a project.. for sure. the entire grounds needs an overhaul... lots of digging, pulling, pruning and killing to be done, then mapping , more digging and planting... wow.. i think i'll need more help...lol
MINDY!!!!!!! you are such a sweetheart! whatever can be spared, whether or not its on the list is greatly appreciated... im trying to locate as many containers for seed starting as i can...lol... gonna be a lot of flowers.
Cue that sounds like a great opportunity for you to do some fabulous things at that place! Good for you! Let me check my seeds when I got home tonight. I have lots of different herb seeds. Welcome back to the fun - I sure missed ya!
Robin - I soooooooo miss the fall in Maine, but then I remember winter comes fast and I don't miss it so much - lol. It sure is the prettiest time of year though...
Ok everybody I have an idea!! How about we take a vote!!! I am printing the list of seed that Cue is looking for. We can make it a Christmas Project. Cue can post pictures before during and after. We from the newbee seeds will donate what we have that she is looking for. She will at seed saving time in the new glorious garden send the newbies seeds of whatever she has grown to put back into the newbie pot ??? Ok with everyone...
Very good idea Robin. Wonder if we can make her pay interest by sending in some of the seeds she said she saved already from there? OK I'll be good now gotta get back to work on an afghan I'm putting together that's killing my poor eyes. Dark color are defintiely out for this crocheter from now on SIGH but it will be worth it when I get it done.
Robin -- in my package to you... there are Agastache, [good for butterflies and bees] short mounding Marigolds [orange and burgundy in color] Morning Glories... "grandPa Ott" and Star of Yelta [both purple] some cosmos and possibly an Early Sunrise Coreopsis. [I didnt make a list, but that is the gist of my seeds that i am sending]
It is Cue I can see it now I was thinking it was really Lucy and she was pretending to be Cue. I was sure Cue was with KT3 I thought for sure Lucy had swallowed her whole and was hanging pretending to be Cue so Kt2 would go visit and shed be gone too!!
Whew glad its you Cue...
Ill put your package together as soon as TCS1366's package arrives!!!
I have rudbeckia and liatris, coneflower, mexican hats, nigella(love in a mist) clarkia farewell to spring. hardy hibiscus seeds , clematis , marigolds, blanket flowers, if these things grow in your zone I can donate to your cause if you want them cue...
Morning everyone... It was really cold in the desert last night... About 33° at my house this morning. Some areas got below 30° on the outskirts of the city. High of only 61° today and cold again tonight - brrrrrrrr...
On a better note - rain is in the forecast for Phoenix all next week!!! I soooo hope it rains...
Flower I can't help it if it's dark when I get up most days I go to bed early after working hard on my crochet projects and need my beauty sleep. Of course since I go to bed early I also get up early. We currently have cold and sunshine. possible snow showers after midnight tonight but another cold sunny day tomorrow.
Hey you guys, I was wondering if you could help me figure what a couple plants are. I got them when I first started trading and they never bloomed so not sure what they are since I never had them before. They are in the same pot so I'll try to pull the taller one over so you can see the smaller one. I think one is a Nun's orchid but not sure and have no idea on the other.
This is the one I thought MIGHT be nun's orchid.
This is the other one. They were both tiny when I first got them and I put several things in the same pot, now this one is bushy and the other one is growing and there are some pregnant onions in there and something else too. Will seperate them in spring. But any ideas as to what they are?
And one more. There are about 6 or more different ones in that pot together because it was hanging under the pond canopy this summer and figured I'd seperate them this spring. Wanted to keep them together for the winter.
Would it be alstromeria? Someone on ID forum thought it might be alstromeria.
And you think the first one IS Nun's orchid?!?(smileing big!) I was hoping it was, but had no idea. So many things I first got died and the names faded off others and since I had never had any of them before, I didn't remember what they were, but that is great. I really wanted one.
Do you know if there is any particular way to care for them? I just have them in potting soil in the greenhouse. Does the nuns orchid need to be kept like an orchid?(bark chips) They seem to be ok but I never grew those before so they may need more than I'm doing. I had an infestation of ants in the pots and threw in some ant killer all over the place and in the pots. Doesn't look good but I think the ants left. It's full of lizzards though. I like them though. They eat the bugs and mosquitoes. I put mosquitoe dunks in the ponds in there also though to help keep the pests down.
I just got the sweetest package from AL. Thank you Al . That has to be the nicest thing that youre doing. I know everyone will love it as much as I did. God bless you sir, to you and your whole family.
OK!!!! Thanks, I'll go mark it this time with plastic markers that won't fade. Hopefully they will bloom this spring/summer. I can't wait. Woo Hoo, I got a nun's orchid and alstromeria!!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Thanks for the ID.
Especially when I thought those died because I didn't know what they looked like. All this time I had some. If I had known that was what those were, I probably would have taken better care of them. I can't believe I neglected them so much and slugs got on them and ate the leaves and the hot sun cooked them for a while until I put the canopy over the pond area. Man, what a find! And right in my own yard.
Everything I read about the Nun's orchid says it needs to be potted in bark like the other orchids and mine has been in potting soil all summer out in the yard. Oh my goodness. It's a miracle it survived.
I assume you are talking about the calla's.. they are doing very well, they are blooming. about the only thing blooming int he Goth garden at the moment.. the oxalis is about spent.. not sure if this is normal, dormancy, or something is causing them to go, but they seem healthy enough.. and nothing is wrong with any thing else...
Of course I meant the callas what other babies do you have from me. No, you can't count the cannas (they were sent to free up space) or the daylillys (those were from a friend of mine) hmmm what else was in that box LOL
I got my package from Santa Al today too. Thank You so much Al.
Isn't he a wonderful Guy? Most men wouldn't even think about doing something like that. I love the rememberance of Christmases past too Al.
Oh I forgot I want to tell you all what I did this evening that I haven't done since I was a kid at home LOL. They had a Christmas in the Village at Spring Mill Park and I strung popcorn and cranberries for a garland for one of the Christmas Trees there. It was lots of fun stringing them by candle light. Couldn't hardly see what I was doing LOL
I've got a bunch of tomato seeds I need to get packed up for you... calling it "Carnival Mix"... saved the seeds when I made a huge batch of bruschetta from all my favorites. Might not get them packaged until after the holidays; you know how that goes, LOL.
And yes, I fermented them. I would not save seeds without fermentation except maybe for personal use. Fermentation helps with germination, but, more importantly (especially with seeds I trade or share), fermentation kills pathogens. I don't want my unfermented seeds to kill half of somebody's tomato seedlings because they were harboring wilt!
Happy belated Birthday Kelly
May you enjoy lots more so we can continue to love you
May this next year of your life be filled to the brim with love and laughter
and plants too
Happy Birthday Kelly
HI everyone it's a white world out my kitchen window this moring. Yep, we got the snow last night and it was still snowing a bit when I let the chickens out. Ground is white and the bushes and trees have a frosting of snow. Looks to be about 2 inches worth. The dogs had a ball running in it this morning.
Well gals the snow missed us but I guess Mindy got it tho. I don't like wishing anything on anybody but I am glad it stayed down there, LOL. Has anybody heard if Texas got any? Last night on the late news they were talking about how everybody was getting weird about getting snow. Not knowing what to do as it was unusual for them.
Flower you may wish snow on me all you want LOL I don't mind a bit. Sun's out now and melting it off. I missed taking pictures thanks to DH deciding he had to have me go to town with him then to my sister's house to finish trimming a tree for them. I made sure he didn't get stay any longer than necessary though much to BIL's disgust. I am on a tight schedule with my crochet and not letting anyone waste my time any more than I can help. I'm on lunch break now so I get to waste my own time LOL.
Yes, lots of places in texas got snow this week. Some got lots of it that doesn't usually get snow. I was talking to some that was showing pictures of roses and they were covered with snow. I guess Mindy got my snow. We missed it.
we just don't need any snow. HUH?
I was born in Mo. I have had snow up to my Rump. I don't miss it at all.
But it is nice around Christmas, just briefly.
But I love hearing you all toss it back and forth..
I was born and raised in Maine as some of you all know, northern Maine - lots and lots of snow...
It got close to 30° here last night at my place, freezing in some parts of the city - brrrrr... I covered the 'maters but they don't look too happy this am. They have some frost damage on the tips of the upper branches, but I think they might survive. Supposed to be chance of rain most of next week - I sure hope so.
Mittsy, Wish I lived in Florida where I could garden all year round. You are very lucky to have such a great place to grow beautiful plants. Those orchids are beautiful. I have wanted some since I first saw some and I traded for one in my first trades but didn't recognize it as an orchid so went all this time thinking mine was dead until now. Can't wait for blooms. Maybe next year.
HI Everyone Santa Al arrived today and I'm spolit already and it's not Christmas yet. (Least I hope it's not or I'm in trouble) Thanky Al I loved it all.
The dogs are trying to con hubby out of turkey jerky his little Smokey is using every doggy trick he knows including walking on his back legs for about a minute.
Our poor mailman was either late to work this morning or had lots of mail to deliver he was about 2 hours late today.
Well Mekos since he's local guy I imagine he got snow too LOL but the roads were clear. We got 2 inches though the radio announcer claims we only got 1/2 inch.
Last Mechelle posted she was going to listen to her daughter sing and was supposed to tape it for us this time but that's the last she popped in
Happy Birthday Mittsy
May your day be filled with special blessings
May you have many many more so you can gather all the seeds you desire
May this next year of your life be filled with love, laughter and lots of gardening
Happy Birthday Mittsy
HI everyone else it's COLD here this morning at around 22. Ground's froze and frosted and still a little snow here and there where the sun didn't reach yesterday. Plants in the outbuilding made it trhough the night OK but I need to put plastic over the windows because it's going to get alot coloer one of these nighs. Sometimes we get below zero.
Happy Birthday Mittsy!! Hope your day is fantastic!
seray - your Kale is cool looking! Some of the tomatoes made it through with no damage and some have frost damage. The main stems are good and there are several healthy leaf nodes, so they might make it. It's ok if they don't too... I harvested several green ones the night of the frost and will ripen those inside - not as good as vine ripened but still better than store tomatoes - lol. The damage on some is pretty extensive. Fall tomatoes here are always a gamble - you win some and you lose some. To have 2 cold nights in a row this soon in the year is freaky weather to say the least... Next year I'll gamble and set them out even earlier than I did this year (October 4th). Normally I'd put them out in early to mid September but if you remember we were still well over 100° most of October - more freaky weather - lol.
Happy birthday Mittsy... Hello all... We didnt get any snow...Much to the kids disappointment...We had a big frost last 2 mornings ... My greens are still looking good so far...every thing else is buried under pine straw...still cold out today... wishing it would warm up a lil more so i can go out and play... supposed to warm up tomorrow but of course its supposed to rain so...
Mittsy, Charley and I want to wish you a Happy, Happy Birthday.
If you was here he'd give you a nuzzle. Have a great day.
RRM and Charley.
Thank you, honeybunch, Charley is a good boy.
We got frost last night, that means winter is not far behind.
Tomato growers are kinda crazy Loca. My DH has sprouts in the GH. LOL Left over sprouts. I'm still getting Romas but the vine is failing fast. I'm putting them in the window to finish as well. Die hards. LOL
I think that would be a good idea RRM. Me and Charlie are GOOD! You are gonna need them.
Hey everyone, Blondie just let me know her son is better today and is now breathing on his own. Talk about a miracle and miraculous time for them. He was awake when she talked to him and getting stronger all the time. She also wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and it will still be a long way to go and keep the prayers coming. They are working! Thanks everyone.
Al i got your package the other day, thanks sooo much
Happy Birthday Mitsy
Happy Birthday LOCA
well goooood news, my son is now breathing on his own, when i got there today. he still has the ventilator and tube but all the breaths are his own. they put him on oxygen for 1 and 1/2 hour to get his lungs working and get stronger. i didnt know but his BP med was taken off yesterday, maybe after i had left. doing soooo much better. he is awake but still on a little sedation, will take it off when the ventilator tube is removed, i can talk to him and he has his eyes open, still acting fuzzy sorta, but soo much better, not fighting the tubes and all. well i am exhausted and am going to bed.
That is so good news blonde. Prayers still going up until he gets well tho.
Well the snow didn't miss us this time. It is pretty but its snow. :((( Got about an inch.
Believe it or not even with the snow it isn't cold out LOL Must have been a wet one cause it is stuck on the trees and all.
Good morning everyone. Cloudy and rainy looking. Supposed to get rain but just heard from my sister further north she said they got sleet snow then rain this morning. We still have patches of snow here from the last snowfall and if it doesn't melt today we'll be getting more in a few days.
Blondie so glad to hear your son is doing better. You take care of yourself too.
Hey looky at what I just got off accu weather.
If any of you all get this please be careful.
Heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions are likely aspects of a major storm pushing onshore in California today. The storm crossing the nation through Wednesday night will create different kinds of weather headaches for millions of people.
The snowstorm will crank up in California to the Intermountain West and the Rockies today. Snowfall of 1-2 feet will freshly blanket the Sierra Nevada and even elevations above 5,000 and 6,000 feet in Southern California. Snow just as heavy will also hit a few areas of Utah, Colorado, northern Arizona and northern New Mexico, especially tonight. Heavy snow and strong winds could shut roads through mountain passes.
The snowstorm will explode on Tuesday and Tuesday night over the central Great Plains. High wind and heavy snow could make for a road-shutting blizzard in Nebraska, Iowa and northern Kansas, for instance.
Snow will begin in earnest over the Great Lakes region on Tuesday night and, though Wednesday, highest snowfall could reach 1 foot in Wisconsin and Michigan.
The interior Northeast will likely get mixed wintry precipitation, maybe enough to cause rough travel, on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, on the warm side of the storm, rain, storms and the potential for flash flooding will target the Gulf coast on Tuesday. Heavy rain and the threat of flooding will be in store for much of the Tennessee Valley and the mid-Atlantic coast.
Hi Gang - Just got back from a long weekend trip, catching up on a lot of past conversation. We met with our far reaching family for a great Life Celebration service for our departed "Gramps". He didn't want a traditional funeral or showing, so we celebrated his life instead. It was a beautiful memorial service and luncheon reception afterwards. They featured "tons" of chocolate desserts, which were his favorites. It was a meant to be a fun event, as he would have wanted. What a great sendoff.
We spent the rest of the time in business meetings with family and lawyers to straighten out the estate matters. My son Richie has the first option to bid on the farm and property. Gramps had a nice 80 acre farmette spread in South Corning with a cute house and small outbuildings for animals and equipment. Richie has been Gramps' farm manager for the past three years taking care of the place while he was in assisted living. Everybody in the family wants him to have the farm, so the transaction should go smoothly. Now if we could only find him a nice country girl wife, he would be all set.
As you all know, I sent out 15 Christmas boxes last Wednesday to everyone on our web thread. I sincerely hope I didn't miss anyone unintentionally, think I about covered everybody, but golly things have been really hectic around here. If you feel left out, please get back to me. Hope you all enjoy the little boxes and think of others during the holiday season.
Miss this thread for a day and look at all the catching up I have to do - lol...
blondie - so glad your son is doing better! That is great news to start Monday morning!
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes - I got mine - RAIN!! Yeehaw! Right now it's only 54° and drizzling... High of 56° today and more rain in the forecast most of the week. Flash floood warnings this afternoon. Not too much of an issue where I'm at in the city, but the outlying areas that can get really scary. When I lived in Tucson my house was miles int he country and the last mile was a dirt road through several washes. When it rained heavy everything flooded. If you were home you were stuck and if you weren't you couldn't get there - lol. Sure don't miss that though I do miss the land and the peace and quiet I had there...
mekos - I'll be on your side, you and Charley. Don't have to ask me twice!
It's a sad ocasion but a wonderful thing to do. Keep the great memories alive and everything will work out for the son. There is a perfect lady for him out there and in time he will know her. You are such a thoughtful man and really hope your Christmas is as bright and lovely as you are.Thank you so much for all the memories you have brought to my life this year.
Hi everyone, no snow but colder than a snowman's behind.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Mekos, shame on you. Plotting against Seray and me.
Shame! Shame! But the battle is still on, girl friends...
Let er rip.
Al, sounds like the send off of Gramps was Beautiful. I have been to one funeral like that
and I truelly enjoyed it. Strange as it may sound. Hope they Sang"I'll Fly Away"
They did At My DH Grandfather's funeral and it was absolutely Wonderful. I will
RRM and the Fuzzyears
since someone stole my mules heart...For a snowball fight...
Good morning everyone. Rainy day here too and cold. Finally seeing the end in sight on the afghan I'm putting together. Should be done with it today then can add bows to the other and those 2 are done and ready to go. Need to clean, bake and dry jerky today also.
Well it rained and it rained and it rained - all day and all night... That's the good part. The bad part? I felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and really expected to wake up in Kansas this morning! The wind blew all night real crazy like... So hard the sheets of rain were coming down vertically - how crazy is that? They said we had gusts in excess of 75 mph and I belive it. Woke me from a dead sleep about midnight stuff blowing around and howling wind. It was dark when I went to work so not able to see too much damage - lol - probably a good thing. I did see my poor tomatoes blown all around though. First the frost nipped them, then the rain blew the fruit all over the place - lol. Talk about adding insult to injury... Power out all over the city and power lines and trees down - geez. When it rains it pours - literally - lol. Sure needed the rain, but I hate that wind!
The wind is unusual but it does happen on occasion. Last spring I lost 40 feet of a block wall to wind gusts over 75 mph. We're not used to the wind so it does a lot of damage to stuff it seems. Some of my plants looked like they were leaning here and there but should be ok. Guess I'll find out when I get home from work - lol.
Sorry Loca, I was sending you some rain since we got so much but not the wind. That must have come from OZ. LOL It's raining here all day and tonight also they say. And a winter storm coming for Friday. My luck will just be winter rain again. I want snow for Christmas. Any hoo, Hello with a goody good morning to all.
Good morning everyone. I hope today brings you all a good day.
It is cold and snowing here, we are to get about 6 inches and then it will get colder and freeze on Wednesday. I am hoping that they missed the forcast and we dont get that much snow. The temp after the snow is to drop to 4 degrees.
Mindy, you can certainly have some of ours! So tired of the cold! Our snow comes with cold, and just don't like the below zero temps. Can't even take the grandkids out in this to make snow angels. LOL No sledding either. Bummer!
We got just an inch of white stuff, but the real storm is supposed to hit tonight and wednesday. Maybe 8 -10 inches. We have three ski slopes in the area and they are thrilled because it means big business for everybody.
That is an idea, we could all meet in the middle to go skiing. (In our dreams, but you'd also have to dream of Seray and RRM and their gang getting their butts kicked with snow balls!)
WooHoo I like this dream!!!!! Have a Mojito and turkey sammich all Charlies team! Woo -Hoo!!
cue did you get the envie I sent? I was going to put a note in and tell you that one is suppose to be a dwarf but sis says they get big for her for some reason. She has one of those green things growing on her hand and thats probably why they get so big. LOL
We got your wind now loca. It is terrible and I have to drive in it today to go see GDers and I hate driving when it is windy like this. Blows my van all over the road.
Wow - this is the snow I really hate, heavy wet stuff. Gotta call in the neighborhood kids to help shovel, I've got a slight heart condition, don't want to make it worse. The predicters were right on, about 8" of it last night, gusty winds too.
All you peeps in the snowy country bundle up and stay warm!
flower - be careful driving... that wind can be real nasty on the road. They have stretches of the I-10 that they close here when the winds get bad. It's wide open and terrible cross winds. They usually close it to big rigs first, then all traffic if it's bad enough. I've driven in it and it's no fun.
Hi cue! Yeah - mekos got crazy with the laughing bit and the page I had to scroll about 5 miles to the right to read it - lol.
Sorry I haven't been on but just wanted to explain a little where I've been. First, my computer had like 5 nasty viruses on it and I had to do another System recovery. I haven't had much time to mess with it as my son was admitted to the hospital on Monday. His problems started Friday and consisted of him saying crazy things, acting bizarre, and Monday he had the tremors. He was seen at the ER and then over to be checked at a psychiatric facility. They had him overnight and sent him back to the ER yesterday and then admitted him back to the regular hospital. Today he is on his way to a bigger hospital in another city to be seen by a neurologist. They can't figure out what's going on right now. He's been tested for infections, had a drug screen, and 2 cat scans so far and they don't know what's causing it. He won't talk to anyone at the hospital so that makes it hard. Need to get ready and head up there but just wanted to let everyone know and I will keep you posted.
Well, my eyes deceive me again, This aint the goth thread after all. Sorry bout that RRM. I thought when Cue posted she was trying to get everyone to the new thread Seray posted. Man, I think the cold wind has messed up my brain. Them long ear donkeys did it.
Robin that list of seeds that Cue wanted is up at the top of this thread along with all the seeds that were on the way to you that she wanted some out of. Go back almost to the top or start at the top and slowly come down a few.
anything that will attract birds and butterflies is a bonus
Robin -- in my package to you... there are Agastache, [good for butterflies and bees] short mounding Marigolds [orange and burgundy in color] Morning Glories... "grandPa Ott" and Star of Yelta [both purple] some cosmos and possibly an Early Sunrise Coreopsis. [I didnt make a list, but that is the gist of my seeds that i am sending
I am supposed to pick 12 women (who have touched my life) and who I think might participate. I think that if this group of women were ever to be in a room together, there is nothing that would be impossible. I hope I chose the right twelve. May my hugs, love, gestures and communications remind you how special you are. Please send this back to me.
Remember to make a wish before you read the quotation. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Then forward this to twelve women; please, try not to break the "flow" of this message. Did you make a wish yet? This is your last chance to make a wish...I want it to come true!
'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in the Universe/Spirit of Life/God/(whatever word speaks to you), yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
Just wanted to thank Trinawitch and congratulate her on having the winning bid on the auction thread. Thanks to all who participated and please play again. I know Robin and CajuninKy will be so happy to get these seeds and this was a great Christmas auction thanks to all of you. Lots of people will have wonderful gardens next year. Can someone please let gjb5766 see the winning bid because she couldn't see the auction since she wasnot a paying member. But she sent me a bid and asked to be notified of the winner. I don't know how to copy and send it to her. If anyone can do it, I sure would appreciate the help.
CONGRATULATIONS TRINA- great bid.
Thanks RRM and Mittsy- if I were picking for me, those were both winners, but this one was for other people who need help and Trina got it. Thanks everyone.

Gotcha again. Love ya, girl.
Kapowie!!! gotcha, again.
Ok so I have to tell you all...I have been packing Cues package for her Share Garden...anyway, I am out all the way out of Morning Glories? Really I mean how can I be out of Morning Glories? Does that make any sense to anyone? It has me completely baffled.I had a ton of Morning Glories,Ipomoea in every color and height. How can that be?
OK I'll send them to Cue. Your Brug should do ok Arejay. They look bad in the winter sometimes. The ones I sent are tough guys. F4F is rooting hers for us while she recovers. Maybe that will help. Can always try again in spring if it doesn't work. I have plenty to share.
Rainwater with a splash of peroxide. Only rainwater. they don't like
chemicals in city water. Isn't that amazing??? See that root forming above the water line. Brugs
are the most Fascinating plant. I guess because I watch what it is doing.
You can do it, I have faith in you.
I have a bunch in water with H2O2 as well and they have rooted and have leaves - lol. I change the water every few days but with the peroxide it really doesn't get cloudy or grow any yucky stuff in there. I use bottled/purified water. I didn't realize this, but Brugs are like tomatoes. When you plant them in soil you plant them deep and roots will form wherever the stem touches soil. I think that's why they are able to hold up all those blooms - lol.
I bet you are right. Sounds reasonable , look at the way the roots form up on the stems.
Ma, that is an overgrown tomatoe. We always plant our tomatoes deep so they will have healthy roots, put a little ring of epson alts around them and Boom, they take off.

Enough of this dogfight - I'm swooping outta here! Compass setting one-niner-zero, I'll be in Bradenton Florida in seven hours flat. They have a friendly airport there near Sarasota. Nice and warm, too. We'll have to buy gas once along the way.
This is how it goes here...The melted snow water honestly it works, I can already see where the roots are growing. These are the strangest plants I have ever seen. Nothing grows this fast? Now can you tell me how to keep them from losing all of their leaves? The drop like flies. One right after the other. What am I doing wrong?
Bradenton Airport is almost downtown Sarasota. Ringling Museum of Art is close as well as Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. They have the largest orchid collection. Tree ferns and bromeliads abound. Hugh Banyan trees where you walk through the roots. Birds abound. You can visit Myakka State park while your there and see owls, herons, alligators and such. Sweeeet! Gingers came from there. Bradenton beach has huge Austrailian pines that bring much needed shade and make the beach very unique. This time of year the water is turquoise green and clear as a spring. You can shop at St. Armands circle but you'll need bucks.
Sounds like heaven. Yes, no more fusses, Mr. Al.
Sounds beautiful seray. I've never been on a plane.
We could go fishing and watc the wildlife.
The Rainwater helped, did n't it Arejay.
Did you put in a drop of peroixe to help too??
Funny I probably walked right past you fishing Al. Lived in the area 20+ years. I think that's one of the prettiest beaches on the west coast of FL. I bet it looks marvelous in a small plane. Caught trout in the bay from a boat. Great vacation place.
Well gosh it's a small world LOL Al our FL neighbors used to live in Bradenton until a couple years ago they moved to Ocala. They are due back here the 20th until New Year's Day.
Been busy crocheting of course. Plus tried a new coffee cake recipe today. I swear I'm going to give up baking seems like everytime I try something lately I'm out of an ingredient. Today it was eggs but I found a substitute that worked so the cake got made. Hubby said it was good whatever it was LOL. Brave man to eat something he doesn't even know what is.
Hoping to take some pictures of stuff tomorrow so you might get to see what I've been slaving over all month.
Well back to the latest project. Hugs everyone
