I thought I was doing all the right things, but my poor roses which were beautiful 5 years ago seem to be going downhill...this article has encouraged me to continue and maybe 2010 will be a rosier summer!

Perry, I see you are in MA, which is really a nice spot for those roses.
Moisture and cool, winters are moderate somewhat.

I think I would join a rose group by you.
This year we have mulch of hardwoods ground up surrounding
our roses.

I am not sure what goes on in a roses mind, but I keep hoping
we can share our homes with them.
