You're welcome. That's one that we make year around now, but it's always special at Christmas time. Merry Christmas!

I'm interested less in the cookies, which sound wonderful, but more in the *boyfriends*, with which we are now negotiating. They do eat a lot, never pay their way (so far), and their only saving grace is the happy (if transient) glow on daughter's face. Any suggestions? PS I adored this article the first time ...

lol, well, only one of the boyfriends was a keeper. He still eats a lot, and so do their kids, the eldest having turned 15 this week (lordy, this was all soooo long ago!). I'll be in touch.

Kathleen, I'm making these cookies right now. Question about the recipe: it says to roll half the dough into a rectangle & spread the filling on top. Should I top that with the other half of the dough before I roll it, or am I only using half of the filling and making 2 rolls?

You are both making two rolls - and the filling recipes are enough for one roll each.

Sorry, this is why I seldom share recipes - I always forget something important. I'm afraid it's a family thing - my grandmother bless her dear heart - gave her bread recipe with twice too much flour. lol, I try!

Glad you liked them, but then butter, sugar, chocolate, what's not to like!

No chocolate chips!! Around here that nears disaster status.

I SO hear ya on that :-) I am going to 'gift' almost half of each batch .. just trying to figure out how to make the rolls easier to roll .. more flour on the board I guess ??

Both recipes make a YUMMY cookie (despite the fact I OOPSIED the cranrasin)

Sorry, mine are all either gone or "spoken for". DH is now also ignoring my double-chocolate oatmeal cookies in favor of these. Soon I suspect he'll be ignoring the persimmon bread that's in the oven in favor of them as well...LOL!!
