Sharon: what a clever idea! I think this is a perfect gift exchange idea for gardening clubs, too, and I hope to implement it in some of my own clubs. I can't think of a better gift for a gardener. Your mind is a fertile place where creativity flourishes. I humbly bow to you, oh, great one! I think all my creativity languished long ago from the sheer drudgery of work, work, work!
I love this idea. I have made trees almost like this in the past but never for the use you have created. I will now be looking for branches, containers, seed catalogs, etc. to use for this project in the future. You are just full of such creative ideas my friend! My creativity plays out sometimes and when it does, I just need to borrow from your creative storehouse of ideas.
It's a little bit messy if you try to do it all at once, better to sort and package the seeds as soon as they are dry, so you don't get seeds mixed in with the glue or tape when creating the tree. Forgot to mention that in the article!
Thanks for writing, it's always good to hear from you.
LouC, I'm thinking it would be a little difficult to mail, what with all the fragility of the little branches. By the time it got all the way to Texas, it might have lost some of its effect, ya know?
Good to hear from you!
