Welcome to our Scavenger Hunt! It will take you on a tour of Dave's Garden. This is our practice session. It will get you familiar with the process and help us to work out the kinks. We'll post the rules and the contestants, the prizes and the refreshments on the official start up thread. Here we just have fun.

The following posts will explain the process. The first one will be the instructions to take you to your first forum. The forums can be found by clicking on Communities at the top of the page. You have to figure out the clues to get to the right one.

The second one will be exactly like the first except we give you the clues and explain the process more thoroughly.

By the time we work our way through a couple of them we'll be old hands and ready to go. You will end up back here if you follow the trail. You need to bring back with you the list of items you collected so be sure to write them down. If you get lost dmail Mekos or me and we'll help you get untangled.

Have fun!

Off to the Jungle to find your first clue. The sun will be dappled and the floor will be moist and covered with vines. From way up above heavenly fragrance will come wafting down. Look up and ask, What are those plants? Hint: The first syllable of this forum rhymes with MORE.

Go now if you can figure it out!

Off to the jungle to find your first clue. The sun will be dappled and the floor will be moist and covered with vines. From way up above heavenly fragrance will come wafting down. Look up and ask: What are those plants? Hint: The first syllable of the word rhymes with MORE.

The first thing to do is to click on Communities at the top of your page. That will take you to the FORUMS.

You're looking for a forum that has tropical plants. JUNGLE was your first clue. Your second clue was LOOK UP so you know it grows in trees. Your third clue was it has a HEAVENLY FRAGRANCE. Your fourth clue was the first syllable rhymes with MORE. Not gingers, not tropical plants, not bananas, not Aroids. But

What? ORchids

Click on the Orchids forum. Now you'll see the Orchid THREADS. Here you'll see our THREAD it will say Charley's girls visit to explore! Click on that thread.

Question?
What if you didn't have to go tot the forum to find the answer ? Would it still count? I knew what that was without having to go to the fourm.

Morning Girls!

Flower to don't have to go to the forum to know the answer but you have to go to pick up your item. Once you get to the forum you will have a series of clues to help you find the item and get you to the next forum. Follow the yellow brick road. :)

It's like a treasure hunt. At each stop you'll have a series of clues that will help you locate the treasure and move to the next spot.

Just need another cup of coffee Huney! Once you get the hang of it it will flow smooth.

Congrats F4F! Thanks for the compliment. It maybe too hard and that's why we are test running this program. What in the world are you doing up so late/early? You're supposed to be resting!!! LOL

LOL did you find the thread that says "My son's room has faux wood planks grooved from plywood" 10 words. The person who started this thread is named soulgardenlove. She's the son's mother. The middle word is GARDEN. Add that to a word that rhymes with WALK and that gives you GARDEN TALK as your next forum. That's us.

The first part of the process, once you get to the forum, is to find the hidden item. The first few clues will be for that. The next set of clues will lead you to the next forum to find the next item. You'll have to have the items that you are scavenging to turn in for the prize.

LOL, Well ... it took me awhile and I got here to the Garden Talk Forum but I'm still confused! Did I mention that I am old ... and that I have a very short attention span? I keep getting sidetracked but maybe I will take some time later to try and figure this out. Knowing me I will get it around New Years! :-)

So ... I found the November thread with ten words as the topic and found the fourth post down and got the word Garden and Talk which got me here ... but, what now? There were items I was supposed to find at each of those stops?

Sounds like fun, but I will try to figure it out later.

Hi Kim

We lost so many in the jungle that we may have to go to Plan B. You are correct and that was only a practice run. The real deal takes place Friday! We're working on it. You did GOOD!

Since almost everyone has tried it with various degrees of success we are working on something that might be a little less trying. LOL Plan B. Mekos has a good idea and we're seeing if we can implement it.
