    Hi JimsGarden

I'm curious as to what shrub is featured in this photo ? can you tell me how you had such good success with it and over what period of time ? If you are in Oshawa, I think you are a zone warmer than me outside Ottawa.

Hello Gracehelen: If you are referring to the bush with the purple blooms, then that is a Japanese Splitleaf Lilac. It blooms twice a year and the second bloom, which is shown in the photo, is nothing compared to the first. The fragrance of this bush will really impress anyone, let alone the blooms which are really quite remarkable. The tree, which is 6' tall and wide at adulthood is really beautiful in full bloom. If you would like, I can send you a picture this year when the blooms are full. If you need any further information, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have always been partial to lilacs. I guess from my Nancy Drew teenage years. Beautiful!
